One change you may notice as part of this digital upgrade is a new applicant reference number format. For a period of time, report recipients may notice our legacy reference numbers along with the new format. Currently, reference numbers consist of seven digits (for example, 8008001). The new applicant reference number format will consist of 10 alphanumeric characters (for example, B252N7UMB3).
If you have questions about any of these changes, please do not hesitate to contact your account manager at WES, or click on the “Connect with Us” button on this webpage to send a message to our Client Success team.

A WES credential evaluation isn’t intended for one-time use—on the contrary, our evaluations never expire. This means WES applicants can use the same report for multiple opportunities as they progress in their education or career.
Ximena Velez, a communications professional and entrepreneur, has used her report to apply to a master’s degree program and again to secure employment. Now she’s eyeing her next degree and has recently ordered another copy of the same evaluation. One report for a lifetime of achieving goals!

“I just applied for a master’s program and ordered a duplicate evaluation from WES! I’m very excited about this next step. Thank you again for always being so responsive and supportive.”
Ximena, applicant from Colombia

In this blog post, WES’ Senior Director of U.S. Policy and Practice, Kit Taintor, explores how aligning workforce and immigration policies can build a more resilient economy—especially in the face of fewer workers, more retirements, and growing talent gaps in critical sectors like health care, manufacturing, and energy.

International students bring cultural diversity and significant contributions to Canada, but they need clear, reliable immigration information to succeed. This study gives voice to 80 international students navigating immigration pathways, revealing systemic gaps that leave students overwhelmed and vulnerable to misinformation.

The World Education Services (WES) Mariam Assefa Fund recently announced US$2.5 million in new grants to organizations across the United States and Canada that are creating more inclusive economies and communities for immigrants and refugees.

In case you missed it, in fall 2025 we announced a partnership with Verifdiploma to enhance delivery of secure and efficient verification of academic credentials for international students, immigrants, and professionals. This partnership marks an important step in WES’ broader strategy to expand Francophone communities’ access to trusted services.
